The smallest of all the Ionian Islands,Antipaxos still packs a punch for the tourist with its stunning array of nature’s best and its friendly locals and quaint homes. Not many people live here permanently but the few who do are happy to share their experiences with tourists and show them around. There are many vineyards here and you will find Paxos residents coming down just to trend to these. These vineyards make great places to simply walk through though.
Taxi boats from the main towns of Gaios, Lakka and Longos to Antipaxos are quite frequent so getting here or out of here should not be a problem at all. The morning boat from Gaios harbor brings you straight to Voutoumi beach after stopping off at Vrika beach first. In fact, if you want to catch some truly spectacular mountain top views, you can trek the path linking these two beaches.
The most spectacular sight in Antipaxos is the Voutoumi beach. While beaches are in abundance in all of Paxos, many are pebble covered so walking barefoot on the beach may not be a favourite activity for many. However, in Antipaxos, you have the perfect place to get your feet in the warm, inviting sand right here at Voutoumi beach. The place is feast for your eyes too with sheer cliffs surrounding it, deep indigo waters and the little taverns dotting the place, inviting you to settle down with a drink and let your senses be soothed with this masterpiece of nature.
